Guest Designer: Maria Peters

Hello Crafty Friends,
I’m very excited and happy to be a guest designer on The Gray Muse Blog today. A big thank you to Ruby for the invitation and for her confidence!
I created a couple of cards using three Stamp Sets from The Gray Muse = Hugs, Be Kind and Happiness Blooms. It’s not a secret that I love to create flower cards and it was so much fun to create these.
I started cutting two panels of Arches Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper and used an Anti-Static Powder Tool. Then I stamped the flowers from the Hugs and Happiness Blooms Stamp Sets with Hero Arts Watermark and Embossing Ink and heat set them with Gold Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.
After that, I started coloring. As always, I painted the watercolors in layers. For my first card I used several shades of purple to color the flowers, for the second card a mix of pink and purple shades.
After coloring, I put both panels aside to dry them. During that time I stamped the sentiments Hugs from the Hugs Stamp Set and the word Kind from the Be Kind Stamp Set on colored cardstock and heat set them with Gold Embossing Powder. Then I carefully fussy cut out the letters with scissors. Fussy Cutting is ALWAYS a challenge for me, but the embossed edges were very helpful.
Then I applied splatters of watercolor to both panels. To finish the cards, I cut out two slightly larger Cardstock panels in matching colors and glued them together. Then I glued my Watercolor Panel on top. I foam mounted the Panels on my white card bases and added the Sentiments using foam tape again. I covered the letters of the Sentiments with Tonic Crystal Glaze. Some Ice Crystal Sequins finished the cards.
I hope you like what I created. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a great day!
Maria
