Hello, crafty friends!

Today I’m delighted to be here as a guest designer for The Gray Muse’s Blog.

Projects

I’m showcasing the Be Kind stamp set from their recent release. I have three projects for you today.

For my first card, I decided to use one of my favorite techniques: Gold embossing on black + colored pencils.

The Gray Muse Be Kind Stamp Set

I first treated my paper with an anti-static powder tool to help keep my heat embossing nice. I then stamped the image in embossing Ink and heat set with gold embossing powder onto black card stock. I then had some relaxing coloring time! :) I did very simple coloring with minimal layering and blending. You don’t need to do a ton of blending because this image already has gorgeous detail to it. I used Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I started with a lighter pencil, next added medium color and finished off with the darkest. The colors I used are: Pinks ( 928, 995, 929, 994), Yellows ( 942, 914, 915, 916 ) Greens ( 989, 910, 1006, 909, 912 ). Once my coloring was done I trimmed this panel and mounted onto an A2 side folding card base.

For the second card I used a fabulous technique of overlapping white heat embossed images.

I started working on this card by stamping the Be Kind Stamp in clear embossing ink onto a piece of watercolor paper using my stamp platform. Just to be safe – I stamped it twice. (But first, I prepped my panel using an anti-static powder tool.) I heat embossed the image using white embossing powder from Hero Arts. For my coloring I used Kuretake Zig Art & Graphic Twin markers and Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors. I colored the card panel using various shades of pink, green, and violet. I also added a bit of yellow to the mix. To color "BE KIND" I used English Lavender Zig Twin marker. Once my coloring dried, I added gold spatters. I foam mounted the colored panel onto an A2 side folding card base. I also embellished my card using Clear Fusion sequins from Studio Katia.

And for my last card, I decided to make coloring with Copic Markers.

I stamped the image with alcohol friendly ink – Memento black Ink and made some ink blending using Altenew Aqualicious ink and Altenew Teal Cave. I then added water splatters and colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers. The colors I used are: YR65, YR68, Y17, BG13, BG49, BG05, BG07.
